Newly installed paver patio behind a Leisure City, FL home

Paver Patio and Walkway Installation in Leisure City, FL

A paver patio, driveway, or walkway lives or dies on the base under it. Set pavers on a base that is not built for South Florida's rain and shifting, sandy ground and they heave, sink, and go wavy within a couple of seasons. We install paver hardscapes across Leisure City, Homestead, and Naranja on a base engineered for the climate.

  • Licensed and insured to Miami-Dade's masonry standard

The Base Is the Whole Job

Anyone can lay pavers; making them stay flat is the craft. On South Dade's sandy and oolitic-limestone ground, that means excavating to the right depth, compacting a proper aggregate base, and setting a bedding layer so the surface drains and does not shift. With a high water table and heavy seasonal rain, drainage is designed in, not hoped for. Cut corners on the base and the prettiest pavers still fail.

We install patios, driveways, and walkways in concrete pavers, brick, and stone, with proper edge restraint so the field does not spread. A driveway base is built heavier than a walkway because it carries vehicle load. Where a patio meets a retaining wall or a block wall, we tie the hardscape into the masonry as one plan.

Hardscapes Across Leisure City

We build paver patios and walkways throughout Leisure City, Homestead, Naranja, Princeton, Florida City, and Redland. A good hardscape is masonry too — the same attention to base, drainage, and finish that a wall needs is what separates a patio that lasts from one that ripples after the first wet season.

Every install is done by a licensed, insured crew and finished with a clean edge and a surface that drains. If a patio ties into other masonry or needs a small permit, we handle it. Where required, we clear the dig through Sunshine 811 before excavation.

A paver patio installation also gives you options a poured slab does not. Individual pavers can be lifted and reset if a tree root or a settled spot ever needs attention, joints can be re-sanded, and a single damaged unit can be swapped without patching a whole surface. That repairability, combined with a base built for the wet season, is why pavers tend to outlast a cracked concrete slab in this climate — and why we build the base as carefully as we set the surface.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do paver patios sink or go wavy?

Almost always a bad base. On South Dade's sandy, porous ground pavers set without a properly excavated and compacted aggregate base shift and settle. We build the base to depth with drainage designed in so the surface stays flat through the wet season.

Can you install a paver driveway, not just a patio?

Yes. A driveway uses the same paver system but a heavier, deeper base sized to carry vehicle load, plus stronger edge restraint. We build driveways, patios, and walkways, each with a base matched to how it will be used.

Do pavers hold up to South Florida rain?

They do when the drainage is right. With a high water table and heavy seasonal rain, we design the base and edging to shed water rather than trap it, which is exactly what keeps a paver surface from heaving or growing weeds through the joints.

Do I need a permit for a patio or walkway?

Often not for a simple ground-level walkway, but driveways and larger hardscapes can require one. We tell you at the estimate, handle any permit through the county, and clear excavation through Sunshine 811 where we are digging.
